Hens and Goats and UnMeat
UnFreakingBelievable, I tell you!
The DH gave them a high-heat saute so there were crunchy, almost-charred, edges, then added in a bunch of neat vegetables (baby corn, sugar snap peas, etc.) sauteed separately in a smoky marinade, and mixed the two together -- it was magic! The best part? 100% Vegan according to the nutrition info label.
In a non-related event ... we took a little road trip up north to Harford County over the weekend to look at an old house that was absolutely cool, but also, alas, kind of beat to crap, AND in a terrible location ... but I digress ...
During said road trip, we came across these ladies (who I seemed to know from somewhere?):
... and just across the street, another cute couple:Doncha dig that face?

I have used the crumbly meat-like stuff but never used the "steak strips" -- glad to know they get 2 thumbs up from you! Now I'll try them. :)

I'll have to try the Morningstar stuffs, I've avoided it all cuz none of it used to be vegan!
Cute hens and goats.

I just bought both the Steak and Chicken strips on Wednesday. I haven't tried them yet but I can't wait to!
I LOVE the goats!!! That beard is delicious.
(BTW - that was my post deleted above. I figured I'd just delete it and add my goat comment to the original text instead of having two comments. But I didn't realize it would leave the other spot up there anyway...)

Aww those animals are adorable!! :)
I've tried the "chicken" variety of the strips, liked them at first but they got *freezer flavor* by the time I went back, and it was so awful I couldn't stand to think of a rebuy. Might have to give the "steak" a go though!
